Today we ate breakfast and then went to Masada. After we climbed up multiple flights of stairs to get to the top of Masada, we prayed in a synagogue from thousands of years ago. Later, we learned about the last stand of the Jewish rebels who occupied the fortress on the top of Masada. I felt inspired when I learned that even though the Jews were outnumbered by thousands, they refused to surrender. My favorite thing about Masada was the hike back down.  After we left Masada, we went to the Dead Sea, and then to the pool. Later, we arrived at the Kibbutz where we would be staying for the rest of our trip. After dinner, we all went outside where our counselor, Nevo, set up an obstacle course for us to go through. Sunday, April 22 Boker Tov! After Tefillah and breakfast we went to Yad Hakashish.There seniors are trained to create beautiful Judaic artwork and crafts. This is a wonderful place because not only do they create art but are served a hot meal, they can socialize , and they receive a small income.We were able to tour the site and see how they made the artwork. Before this we visited the gift shop where they sold everything they made. The next stop was an archeological dig at Biet Guvrin. There we went to artificial hills also known as tells. We used a variety of tools to find all different kinds of artifacts. Most of us found a lot of pottery, but a few of us found animal bones. We then went into another cave where we had to crawl through. Our last stop was at Shvil Hasalat. Shvil Hasalat is a farm in the desert where tourists get have the chance to tour and eat along the way! We ate all kinds of vegetables. Monday in Israel

Today, we said goodbye to our loving parents and started our journey to Israel, the holy land. The plane we boarded was was a 787 airbus and was a beautiful plane. We were able to see the sun rise and it was truly magical experience. The light illuminated from the sun rise made us think "Hashem is watching over us, and he will keep us safe." When the plane landed we were greeted by Betzalel, Yonit, Nevo, and Edan. Yonit told us an inspiring story about Jews in Palestine sticking up for the other Jews that were trying to enter under the British Mandate, by giving the immigrants their clothes so they would look like natives. After that we had a wonderful tefillah on the beach in תל-אביב and we were able to each connect with G-d differently through our special individual amidah.
