Thursday, April 26

Today was another rainy day. We woke up, did teffilah (shoutout to the Kellman Torah readers), ate breakfast, and were off to Dgania Alef. It is the first kibbutz in all of Israel. Inside the building they had dead animals preserved in jars, and 3 fetuses preserved in jars. After, we went for a swim at Sachne. It is a big natural water system. They also have a couple water falls there, and a little pond. Then, we went to a falafel place in Afula. They made your sandwiches like they do at habachi. On our way back to the kibbutz we are staying, they stopped at a restaurant. No we didn't eat again, we went to a watch tower right next to it. We climbed up and could see all of Israel, azeh nof / what a view. Congrats to Yonit, we can't wait to hear about your new arrival (Baruch Shalom, or Normon) Lilah tov, Hannah Udell Sent from my iPhone

Today we ate breakfast and then went to Masada. After we climbed up multiple flights of stairs to get to the top of Masada, we prayed in a synagogue from thousands of years ago. Later, we learned about the last stand of the Jewish rebels who occupied the fortress on the top of Masada. I felt inspired when I learned that even though the Jews were outnumbered by thousands, they refused to surrender. My favorite thing about Masada was the hike back down.  After we left Masada, we went to the Dead Sea, and then to the pool. Later, we arrived at the Kibbutz where we would be staying for the rest of our trip. After dinner, we all went outside where our counselor, Nevo, set up an obstacle course for us to go through. I liked it because it felt lime the military.  Dakota L. Kozuch Kellman Brown Academy  Sent from my iPhone

Today we woke up and had a short teffilah and breakfast. Then, we climbed up Ein Avdot. It was a lot of hard work, but the view made it all worth it in the end. Every step you took was a new view. After, we went to visit Ben Gurion's grave. The view from there looking onto the other mountains was incredible. There was a small road that looked as if it just ended under the trees. Plus, there was a bunch of little mountains of sand between two massive mountains. Then, we stopped for lunch and got to choose between pizza or falafel. While waiting for everyone to finish eating, some of us played football or played on the playground. Later, we went to the pool and swam. It was very refreshing for everyone, especially after climbing a mountain. Another activity we did was ride camels. When the camel got up it felt like you just got thrown up in the air. Then, when it went down, you felt like you were about to belly flop onto the ground. Lastly, we went to the Bedouin Tent and experienced

Today, we said goodbye to our loving parents and started our journey to Israel, the holy land. The plane we boarded was was a 787 airbus and was a beautiful plane. We were able to see the sun rise and it was truly magical experience. The light illuminated from the sun rise made us think "Hashem is watching over us, and he will keep us safe." When the plane landed we were greeted by Betzalel, Yonit, Nevo, and Edan. Yonit told us an inspiring story about Jews in Palestine sticking up for the other Jews that were trying to enter under the British Mandate, by giving the immigrants their clothes so they would look like natives. After that we had a wonderful tefillah on the beach in תל-אביב and we were able to each connect with G-d differently through our special individual amidah. Following teffillah we went to the place that it all started, Independence Hall. We saw a quick video about the background of how and why Israel needed to become a state. Next we were brought into th
