Today we went to Yad Vashem. It was an enlightening experience, because we learned about how Holocaust survivors were able to return to society even stronger than they were before. We felt very appreciative of what we had when we saw how whole families were wiped out and never got to say goodbye. We later presented first person poems that we wrote pertaining to the St. Louis. After that we went to Har Hertzel in which one of the very first things we did was share our hopes and dreams. After that we visited Channah Senesh's burial site and learned about her eagerness to help Jews in need all around the world. Then we saw Yonatan Natenyahoo's grave and learned about his selflessness and bravery. Next we learned about Mike Levin who was a Lone Soldier, and the only American to die in the second Lebanon War. Following that we learned about Roei Klein and how he jumped on a grenade to save his fellow soldiers.He survived, only to be killed by another grenade that was thrown right ne...

Today we woke up and had a short teffilah and breakfast. Then, we…

Today we woke up and had a short teffilah and breakfast. Then, we climbed up Ein Avdot. It was a lot of hard work, but the view made it all worth it in the end. Every step you took was a new view. After, we went to visit Ben Gurion's grave. The view from there looking onto the other mountains was incredible. There was a small road that looked as if it just ended under the trees. Plus, there was a bunch of little mountains of sand between two massive mountains. Then, we stopped for lunch and got to choose between pizza or falafel. While waiting for everyone to finish eating, some of us played football or played on the playground. Later, we went to the pool and swam. It was very refreshing for everyone, especially after climbing a mountain. Another activity we did was ride camels. When the camel got up it felt like you just got thrown up in the air. Today we ate breakfast and then went to Masada. After we climbed up multiple flights of stairs to get to the top of Masada, we prayed in a synagogue from thousands of years ago. Later, we learned about the last stand of the Jewish rebels who occupied the fortress on the top of Masada. I felt inspired when I learned that even though the Jews were outnumbered by thousands, they refused to surrender. My favorite thing about Masada was the hike back down.  After we left Masada, we went to the Dead Sea, and then to the pool. Later, we arrived at the Kibbutz where we would be staying for the rest of our trip. After dinner, we all went outside where our counselor, Nevo, set up an obstacle course for us to go through.
